In September, Tubi claimed it had streamed over 132 million hours of content. It has grown 40% in only four months. The company wants to dedicate the new service to help alleviate parent’s worries over their children are watching. At MIPCOM in Cannes, Tubi set to roll out Tubi Kids on October 21st. Additionally, Tubi also announces U.K. expansion early in 2020.
Tubi Kids will offer over 1,200 age-appropriate titles at launch with over 5,000 hours of content. Starting with popular movies for children like ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows ’, ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ and “Norm of the North” will be included in November, alongside popular TV series like ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’, ‘Strawberry Shortcake’, ‘Paddington Bear’, ‘The Wiggles’ and many more – all completely free.
Roku devices will get Tubi Kids content early and all major streaming devices will be available in the near future. “The launch of Tubi Kids reinforces our dedication to offer an age-appropriate viewing environment – super-serving kids and families with a robust amount of content,” said Tubi CEO Farhad Massoudi in a statement.
The growth of among ad-supported video on demand are remarkable. Tubi facing the competition to further increase its audience with an international expansion, starting in the U.K. “We’re ramping up our international expansion with the U.K. launch being the first of several forthcoming territories and look forward to announcing them soon,” said Massoudi.
